Why Info Agent IA?

AI is everywhere, but clear guidance is hard to find. Which assistant should you pick, and is the paid plan worth it? What can an AI agent, a program that chains actions on its own to reach a goal, actually do for you? How much does it cost, and what are you risking when you give it access to your files or inbox? Info Agent IA exists to answer those questions in plain English, without hype and without a sales pitch.

Public data, dated and sourced

Prices, model capabilities, benchmark results (standardized tests that measure how well an AI performs) and the weekly AI ranking all come from identified public sources. Every figure on the site shows where it comes from and when it was collected. When something is uncertain, we say so. You can see exactly how we work on our methodology and sources page.

Free tools that run on your device

Estimate what an agent will cost, count the tokens in a text (the small chunks of words a model reads), check whether a document fits in an AI’s memory, or write a better prompt: our free AI tools run in your browser, with no account and no data sent. If you are not sure where to begin, the “Which AI is right for me?” quiz gives you a recommendation based on your needs.

A path for every level

New to AI? The Start path covers the basics and helps you use an assistant well in everyday life. Already using one? Go further shows you how to compare models, keep costs under control and spot the limits. Want to create your own agents? Build walks you through frameworks, tools and good security habits.

An independent editorial team

No assistant or AI lab pays to be recommended or ranked higher. Our comparisons rely on public criteria, and every article links to a tool or profile so you can check for yourself. We always separate facts, analysis and uncertainty, and we correct our mistakes in public.

The goal is simple: you should leave every page with a clearer decision, whether that means choosing an AI, keeping its cost in check, or knowing what you can safely hand over to an agent.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI agent?

An AI agent is a program that uses a language model to complete a task in several steps: it plans, uses tools such as web search, spreadsheets or email, and adjusts based on the results. A regular chatbot answers a question; an agent takes action to reach a goal. Agents still make mistakes and need clear limits.

Which AI should I use as a beginner?

It depends on what you want to do: write, summarize, research, code or automate tasks. The “Which AI is right for me?” quiz points you in the right direction in a few questions, and the assistants comparison helps you weigh free and paid plans. Start with one simple, specific use rather than the trendiest tool.

Is the site free?

Yes. Every article, tool, comparison and learning path is free, with no account or sign-up. The tools run in your browser, so nothing you type is sent anywhere, except when you use the contact or error-report form.

Where does your data come from?

We rely on public sources: Models.dev and OpenRouter for model prices and capabilities, Epoch AI for benchmarks, Hugging Face and GitHub for open source, and vendors' official pages for consumer assistants. Every figure shows its source and date. The methodology page explains it all.

How often is the data updated?

Public data is refreshed every week, when the site is rebuilt on Monday. Prices and features of consumer assistants are checked every month on the vendors' official pages, and the check date appears on each profile.
