What Notion AI does
Notion AI works right where your content lives. It can draft or rewrite a passage, summarize a long page, autofill database properties, and answer questions based on your workspace and, depending on your plan, connected tools such as Slack or Google Drive. AI Meeting Notes transcribes and summarizes your calls.
Since 2025, Notion has focused on Notion Agent, an AI agent that does more than answer: it creates pages, updates databases and chains several steps from a single request. Custom Agents go further by running on their own, on a trigger or schedule, a form of agentic workflow. Notion uses models from several providers and does not consistently name them on the pages we checked.
Plans and pricing
As of October 22, 2026, per member:
- Free: limited AI trial.
- Plus: $10 per month billed annually ($12 monthly), but still only a limited AI trial.
- Business: $20 per month billed annually ($24 monthly), with Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes, Enterprise Search and Research Mode.
- Enterprise: custom pricing, with zero data retention at AI model providers.
Worth noting: paying for Plus does not unlock full AI. Custom Agents are also billed separately in Notion credits ($10 per 1,000 credits per month) once the trial ends.
Privacy and availability in Europe
Notion is a US company, but it prices its plans in euros for European customers and offers a localized interface. It lists SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001 certifications and GDPR compliance. Your content is not used for training without explicit opt-in, and workspace owners can turn off AI web search. Details are in Notion’s official Notion AI FAQ.
Limits

Is Notion AI free?
The Free and Plus plans include only a limited AI trial. Full access, with Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes and Enterprise Search, starts with the Business plan.
How much does Notion AI cost?
As of October 22, 2026, the Business plan costs $20 per member per month billed annually, or $24 billed monthly. Enterprise is custom-priced. Custom Agents are billed in Notion credits, at $10 per 1,000 credits per month after a free trial.
Is my data used to train AI models?
Notion says it does not use your data to train models without explicit opt-in, and contractually prohibits its AI model providers from training on it. Providers keep data for up to 30 days, unless you have zero data retention on Enterprise.
Does Notion AI work in other languages?
Yes. The Notion interface is available in several languages, including French and Spanish, and the AI can write and answer in them.
